Lawn aerator shoes or lawn sandals are the simplest and most basic type of lawn aerator. All models feature a number of solid spikes fixed to the base of a plastic or rubber shoe sole that fits underneath your garden shoes with a number of straps. They are designed so that you aerate the lawn as you walk around either mowing or doing your normal gardening.
These lawn aeration shoes are only for use on the smallest of gardens and whilst easy to fit, some users report that they are difficult to keep attached to the feet with the supplied straps. We would recommend finding some old training or tennis shoes and super-gluing them to the bottom for a more permanent and comfortable solution!
